Namak Paray and Tea Recipe

The Pancakes Review

The Pancakes is a small yet beautiful setup in I-8 Markaz, right behind the Allied Bank building in the Markaz. The setup is owned by a very courteous gentle man which mainly focuses of serving breakfasts, but also serves other meals throughout the day. I personally like to try out new food ventures and focus on promoting these small new startups.

As the name suggests, the Pancakes mainly serves breakfast with most of them being sweet items, ranging from waffles to pancakes. They offer a variety of pancakes and waffles ranging from Nutella to honey, to whipped cream and any other combination you could practically imagine.

Upon entering this small beautiful setup, we couldn’t help but notice this small setup to be beautifully decorated and very well lit. That’s exactly what you need in the morning to boost your mood. We were greeted by the owner himself. He asked us what kind of food would we like and helped us choose by suggesting us their best sellers.

We ordered a beef Panini with a side of chicken sausages and a waffle omelet sandwich which comes with hot tea. The omelet waffle sandwich was something new for me. He gave us a crossword puzzle to solve to help us wait till our order arrives.

The food was served in 20-25 mins of placing the order, which is pretty standard I would say. The food was very pleasing to the eyes as you can see in the picture attached. Although the portion size of the omelet waffle sandwich was a bit smaller than what I had expected, but it tasted great. The beef panini on the other hand was huge and pleasing to the eyes as well as the taste buds. The presentation was quite nice. With the food, we were also given a hand sanitizer to clean out hands before we get on with the food. I really liked that.

The food served was hot and the vegetables used were farm fresh. It tasted as good as it looks in the picture! There was great variety in the beverages as well including coffee and tea of various flavors, I’m not a fan of hot beverages, so didn’t try them out.

I am highly impressed by the decor and the thought the owner put into this small cozy place. The light colored theme and artificial flowers just brighten up your day! The walls had hangers hung over nails with books hanging on them so that people can spend time reading them. The books ranged from shapes and numbers books for children to philosophical books and biographies for adults.

The prices were pretty pocket friendly as well, with their main menu items starting from Rs.200, this isn’t a bad option at all for your routine breakfast.

My only recommendation would be to introduce more savoury items in the menu as one isn’t always in the mood to eat something sweet. Would definitely visit again.

Here is how I would rate the place:

Food: 9/10

Service: 10/10

Value for money: 10/10

Ambiance: 9/10

Overall: 8.5/10
