Fennel Seeds                                       2 pinch

Mixed Italian Herbs                             2 teaspoon

Jalapenos                                            for garnish

Olives                                                  for garnish

Capsicum                                            for garnish

Recipe:

·         In a skillet, add butter and oil. Oil is added in the butter so that the butter does not burn.

·         Now add 1 medium chopped onion and cook for about 5 mins and garlic to it. Cook until the onions are soft and is just about to turn brown.

·         Add grounded beef to it. And stir it for a few minutes. Here, I am using beef, but you can use ground chicken as well.

·         Now add salt, black pepper, fennel seeds, dried basil, mixed herbs and crushed red chili.

·         Cook for a few minutes more and now add the canned tomato puree and the crushed tomatoes. Stir well for a few minutes.

·         Now turn the heat slow and let it simmer for 3 hours. And take it off.

·         Next when you want to bake it, prepare the white sauce as it was prepared in ALFREDO Fettucine pasta.

·         Boil the lasagna sheets as per directions given on the box. And the pasta sheet should be al-Dante. And after the pasta boils run it under cold water so it does not stick.

·         Now its to finally assemble the lasagna.

·         Take a baling dish and spray it with the non-stick cooking spray. Add a cup and half of the ground beef at the bottom layer, sprinkle some parmesan cheese and place the lasagna sheets in an over-lapping manner.

·         Next spread white sauce pasta on the lasagna sheet then place mozzarella cheese slices on the sauce and finally repeat starting from beef sauce, parmesan cheese, pasta sheets, white sauce, and mozzarella slices.

·         In between these layers you can also add jalapenos and olives. You can stack up to four layers or however deep is your baking dish.

·         Now on top add a generous amount of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top and for garnish add black olives, jalapenos, capsicum and onions.

·         Cover the dish with foil already sprayed with nonstick cooking spray so that cheese do not stick to the foil and bake it at 260°C for 25 minutes then remove the foil and bake it for another 15-20 mins to give a nice color to the top cheese layer. Your Lasagna is ready.

Note:

With this amount of ingredients, you can also prepare another tray and then cover it with foil and freeze it. Whenever you need a quick lasagna, just take it out of the freezer defrost it at room temperature and bake it. You will not have to go through the tedious task again. 😊
