Namak Paray and Tea Recipe

Burning Brownie Review

For the residents of twin cities with a sweet tooth, Burning brownie is the go to place. It currently has 3 locations, Beverly center, F-11 Markaz and DHA Islamabad. They are famous for what is referred to as the best cheese cake of Islamabad. Well, No doubts about that!

We wanted to try something different this time as we weren’t in the mood to have something sweet, we went there for breakfast and ordered their grilled chicken and grilled beef Panini with cheese from their savory menu.

First things first, COVID SOPs are an important part of any food review these days. The restaurant had an automatic sanitizer dispenser located at the entrance, the staff was wearing gloves and masks and they also claim to sanitize their premises regularly. So I am satisfied from the hygiene perspective here.

Coming to the food, they food was served within 20 minutes of the order, which is quite standard I would say. The sandwiches were served with grilled potatoes and salad. The bread had just the right amount of crisp. I was glad to know that the meat used in the sandwiches was pulled meat which gives it a different texture, which I love for sure!

The Paninis were pretty basic with lots of meat stuffed between the bread. I was highly impressed by the taste and quality of cheese they used in the Paninis. It was simply one of the best. The grilled potatoes were perfectly seasoned with thyme, salt and other spices which gave them a great taste.

Although I loved the chicken Panini but I wasn’t very impressed with the beef one (Although I normally prefer beef over chicken). For me, one can’t really go wrong with any chicken item as there is not much quality difference in chicken meat but beef meat and its cuts need to be perfect to bring out the ideal aroma, texture and taste. Poor quality beef meat can ruin the whole course, and that’s what happened here. I believe the beef meat quality was not up to the mark and tasted a bit off. Which obviously compromised the overall sandwich quality and taste. I raised this issue to the server and they said they will let their meat vendor know and make sure that no such compromise is made in the future.

Coming to the salad served along the Panini, although it was a bit less in quantity, but was a show stopper for me. It had a very different taste, definitely nothing like your ordinary salad. It had fresh lettuce leaves, chunks of crispy golden apples and just the perfect amount of dressing which gave it a bit of sour tinge.

Overall, I liked the chicken Panini and would definitely come back to try their beef Panini again and see if they have improved. Its worth giving them a second chance! The prices were pretty reasonable as well keeping in view the atmosphere and ambiance they provide you. Although their savory menu is very brief, but I would love to try other items that next time to get the “Sweet” stereotype associated with burning brownie out of my head.

I would rate my experience as follows:

Food: 7.5/10

Service: 8.5/10

Value for Money: 8/10

Ambiance: 9.5/10

Overall: 8/10
